Giving Non-Speaking Children a Voice
Every child deserves a voice, and with our ground breaking tech, #InnovateUKFunded, non-speaking children can express themselves in a way that feels natural, fun, and empowering. Using the Phonemies on our speech sound keyboard, children quickly discover how to ‘say’ what they want—no complicated programming, no barriers, just instant connection. They can quickly figure it out, without needing help.
With nearly 20,000 words already stored and new ones added daily, parents can request any name or word, and Miss Emma will make sure it’s there. This isn’t just about communication—it’s about unlocking potential. As children play, they’re also developing the essential language processing skills needed for reading and spelling. Our MySpeekie® tech is more than a voice; it’s a bridge to literacy, independence, and confidence.
These are old clips but still useful. I would use the term 'non-speaking' now, rather than 'non-verbal' and 'autistic' rather than ASD
EDSLIP was a project designed to prevent children from slipping through the cracks within the education system (Early Dyslexia Screening & Literacy Intervention Project).
MySpeekie® - as an AAC Device!
Also used to support SALT.
You can check words using the 'Check Monster Mapping' feature.
Those are the Phonemies (Speech Sound Monsters) your child will type to build words - that are then voiced.

The Phonemies show the 'sounds'. They can see the 'pictures of the sounds' (Sound Pics) are often different! English has an opaque orthography, and why it is often so difficult to understand! Not for SSP children:-)
Speech Sound Pics are easy to understand.
Spencer started using the Speech Sound Pics (SSP) Approach
after his Speech and Language Therapist recommended it to his parents in Queensland, Australia.
Use Map and Drag to save and print their favourites! They can use them, or type the Monster Sounds and hear the word/s voices.
You can change the Speech Sound Monsters (Phonemies), e.g., if the child prefers to use /ʌ - Blue Cow/ (as they do use this sound when over-articulating the phoneme using Duck Hands—at first, this one may make more sense to them).

This Speech Sound Monsters has lots of Sound Pics!
